Esker N.S. is situated just off the R348 road, Athenry to Ballinasloe, 5kms from Athenry. At present, there are 109 pupils on the roll of Esker N.S. and there are 4 main stream teachers and a learning support teacher based in the school and shared with Brackloon N.S.

The school  building now consists of four large classrooms, library/resource room, learning support room, staff room and office. The new extension was completed on time and a very happy staff and student body moved in on the first of September  2008.  Considerable storage room has been incorporated into the new extension and all classrooms  have en-suite toilet facilities. All classrooms have inter-active boards and a number of computers have been sourced and will be up and running in the library/computer/resource room

There are 2 large modern pre-fabs in the school grounds at present and these are being kept as all purpose rooms.
